Ben grew up in Spokane, Washington where his love of the outdoors began. At a very early age, he worked at a local nursery and eventually started his own business in high school installing ponds for friends and family. After graduating high school he entered the Coast Guard where he had the opportunity to circumnavigate the world and visit over 30 countries.

After exiting the military he decided to move to Santa Barbara and graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara. Ben wanted to start a company where he was doing more than just executing landscape plans, but more so creating spaces that his clients could enjoy, creating memories for years to come. Years of hands-on experience between Ben and the Hatcher Landscape crew provides the background to their practical, creative approach to bringing your vision to life.
Ben lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, Mallory, and their identical twin boys, Owen and Brooks.

Hatcher Landscaping worked on our backyard for a pretty large project and they knocked it out of the park! The owner Ben is professional, responsive, and very transparent and positive with his clients. His team is knowledgeable, hard working, and very respectful. It's hard to find good partners to work with in construction/landscaping these days and this isn't something you have to be concerned about with Hatcher. Our backyard is beautiful, was completed on time, and the experience with Ben/team made us life long clients for any future projects.

I could not be more pleased with Ben and his crew at Hatcher Landscapes. My job was quite difficult and labor intensive, but Ben was undeterred and made magic happen with the artificial grass, the rock walls, the strawberry marina trees, and the beautiful plants. Ben's crew were the most fun and respectful workers I have ever had work at my house. Every day they left the job swept and picked up-- another sign of professionalism. My friends and neighbors are amazed at the transformation of our backyard and hill. All of it is gorgeous!
